Glass Doors in My Kitchen?
Everyone loves the look of glass doors in a kitchen, but how practical are they? The answer is, with a little planning, they work just fine. Glass cabinet doors are a great option to add a focal point or give a more custom look to your kitchen. They can make a small kitchen feel more open, and they can help break up an otherwise monotonous wall of cabinet doors. That being said, you want to think about where they are going. The most important thing to know before hand is what is going behind them. You don't want to put glass doors on the cabinet that you plan to hold all of your dry goods in boxes of all different color and shape. If you want to use the glass doors to bring a pop of color into the room, dishes is the way to go. Plates and bowls typically stack up neatly, and give you an opportunity to show off the colors you worked so hard at coordinating. If color is not what you want then consider glasses or stemware. They too have a uniform shape, lending themselves easily to an organized look. Glass doors are a great kitchen upgrade, but a little forethought will go a long way in making sure you don't regret the decision at a later date.
